Cici's 22nd Birthday

Hi blog! This is so not me, but in the previous post you see how much I have been trying to change myself, right? I guess this one is one of the thing that would show how I have been doing some different acts in my everyday life for the people around me.

4 days ago, my big sister had her birthday. February 10th, 2013, she celebrated her 22nd birthday. There's nothing inside my head but realizing that my sister is now a grown-up who's going to be in the real world (real world, for me, is like when you are going to be working all day in the office and earn some monthly paychecks from your own hardwork, that's it.)
I had no idea what to give, because I think, it's getting boring to collect greetings from her friends (not to mention how exhausting it will be, period), I thought I would just make one present which is 1.) not expensive and 2.) special.
So I scroll down the web, looking for ideas, and I found one where a house wife made paintings of her loved ones from water color paint & concord paper. It was so simple but yet beautiful, and the meaning behind the painting was also sweet because, for example, she chose a picture of her son (which is her favorite picture of him), and she painted it all by herself. She showed the steps and I was amazed how easy it was to make one! My artsy brain is starting to work and I decided to make the exact same one.
I looked up on my folders of pictures, and I found one favorite picture of her. In the picture that I chose, she looked so pretty with her ear-to-ear smile. I decided to make the painting based on that picture. Later that day, I was picked up by Bian (yes, he's such a helper, I love him!) we bought the things we need, also picked up the cake & chocolate that my mom bought for my sister, and then we went to Kirana's house because she needed the company and I needed the comfy place to make my artsy brain work :D
It took me almost 1 hour to finish the painting, it wasn't that hard actually, but my shaky hands and my easily-tired eyes are very poor indeed. After I finished my painting, with help from my Bian, I finally put it in the frame (thanks to Ajik, Kirana's dad, for giving me the free frame! Bless him!) and it looked so pretty even I feel proud of that painting :'D

Well, you see how I worked like a pro, right? Yes, that was very exhausting to me, knowing that I NEVER did this before.. But anyway, I'd do anything to make a special present for my sister :) after I painted this, I stayed at Kirana's house until 8.30 pm and then the three of us off to Kado Kita to wrap the present. After that we had some dinner & finally went back to Kirana's house to prepare the midnight surprise. at 12.30 a.m we went back to my place and gather a tiny group of friends to join the birthday surprise. I had fun making the present and thankfully, my sister loved it! It was a hardwork that paid off with here beautiful smile in her 22nd birthday :)

Until then,
making a less expensive present with expensive meanings is very fun :D
